Letter to Commissioners and Partners Waythrough
Dear COMMUNITY PHARMACY CUMBRIA (Cumbria LPC)
We wanted to share some exciting news about our new charity. Humankind and Richmond Fellowship legally merged in the summer and on 1 October 2024, we launched Waythrough with Aquarius as our subsidiary.
Waythrough combines the expertise of our two charities in mental health, alcohol and substance use, gambling and housing. Our vision is simple: To break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We aim to do this by bringing together services so people can access the support they need in one place.
This is the start of a new chapter for us; we have a new name, website and email addresses but changes to our services will be gradual. As always, the people we support remain our priority and our focus continues to be on delivering high quality services.
We will share updates on our plans for completing the integration of our teams, infrastructure, and resource. You can follow our progress and see what’s happening during launch week and beyond by signing up to our newsletter, taking a look at our new website www.waythrough.org.uk or following us on social media.
For now, please continue to send all invoices, previously sent to Humankind, to humankind.invoices@cloud-trade.com. All general finance queries should be directed to finance@waythrough.org.uk.

24th April 2024 – Email sent to all Pharmacies providing Substance Misuse services
Humankind Charity are the parent contract holder for Recovery Steps Cumbria who provide substance misuse services across the county. Some of you will already work quite closely with us as an organisation but I am emailing to make you aware that as of April 2024, Humankind/Recovery Steps will be the main contract holder/commissioner for the Pharmoutcomes platform for claiming for supervised consumption, needle syringe provision and take-home naloxone. The service level agreement that was implemented in 2021 is still in place so no changes to current practice are occurring at this time. The reason for this update is to make you aware that if there are any queries relating to these services, please forward any questions to either myself or the Area Manager Becky White (becky.white@recoverystepscumbria.org.uk). You can also liaise with the service local to you to raise any queries as normal.
Many Thanks
Patrick

Service Level Agreements
SLA Substance Misuse April 24- March 25 – RCS Pharmacy SC SLA v8.0
Service Level Agreement for Pharmacy Needle Syringe Provision April 24-Mar 25 –RSC Pharmacy NSP SLA v6.0
Our Needle Syringe Provision will be via Orion. They will be contacting the pharmacies to organise and going through the ordering process/subtle differences between products, waste collection arrangements etc. Like for like products will be provided but sometimes there are really subtle differences our service users can pick up on (e.g. 1ml Frontier plunger might not move as smoothly as a 1ml Orion product). Pharmacies will be able to order direct with Orion via their website. Pharmacies won’t have to wait until end of once a month to get orders – they can just order what they need when they need it.
