- Medicine Shortage Fax Form – To communicate medicine shortages to GP practices
- Manage Prescription Direction and Complaint booklet–“Prescription direction” occurs where a patient is directed by their GP practice to a certain pharmacy to have their prescription dispensed. Prescription direction undermines a patient’s right to have a free choice between any community pharmacy, and damages trust and cooperation between healthcare professionals. Pharmacy Voice, PSNC and the BMA published a joint statement against prescription direction in October which you can view here. As a follow up to this statement, a leaflet “Your prescription your choice” has now been produced which can be used by patients to easily register a complaint about undue pressure to use a particular pharmacy. If a patient is willing to fill out the complaint, this will then be sent to the relevant bodies and NHS England who will then act appropriately.
